Why does my piano need to be tuned?

• Pianos have over 200 strings and thousands of pounds of tension. When a piano is out of tune, the strings are typically lower than they should be. Pianos are affected over time by the changes in season, temperature, and humidity. 

Why would I need a "Follow-up Tuning"?

• The Follow-up Tuning addition is available and recommended because strings that have sat out of tune for a while won't hold their pitch from the initial tuning. After a week or two, the strings will have settled and once they are retuned, will hold at that point for a much longer time.

How long does it take?

• Tuning a standard upright piano takes between 1.5 - 2.5 hours depending on the condition. The second Follow-up Tuning is usually quicker. 

Will you play me a song?

• I will be happy to play you a song on the piano before and after it is tuned so you can hear and be satisfied with the changes.
